The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer

The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer was the pair's first show on the BBC.  It was originally aired between 21 September 1993 – 9 June 1995 as two series of 6 shows each.  Of the characters from Big Night Out, only the Stotts, Donald and Davie plus Greg Mitchell, the 'gorgeous sandy coloured labrador' survived. Instead, some considerable work had gone in to the development of many outrageous characters and situations.  Perhaps my favourite is Slade in Residence, with Vic playing Noddy Holder and Bob as the maniacally be-wigged Dave Hill. Paul Whitehouse and Mark Williams played the other members of the band.  Much of the 'plot' revolved around Dave trying to keep order as the others generally acted the goat.
