Blackadder II

Blackadder II is perhaps the best of the four series. Why this should be, I'm a little unsure. It's more than likely the maniacal energy brought to the role of Queen Elizabeth I by Miranda Richardson. Anyway, in the first episode, Bells, Blackadder is due to marry his former manservant 'Bob', but as we are to discover, things don't go smoothly. Not at all...

The second episode of Blackadder II, Head, contains a great piece of dialogue that has passed into common usage. You know the one, about long winter evenings just flying by...

Excuse the pun, but Blackadder II really seemed to have found its sea legs with the third episode, Potato. The Queen has a new friend in court, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Edmund Blackadder is not a happy chappy. Cue some undignified banter between the two and an epic voyage...

I'm quite liking these puns I'm making on the titles of Blackadder II, so let's go for it again... As usual, we are not short changed with the fourth episode, Money. It starts with a bang, a crash, a smile and a stab and ends with some wondrous portrait work...
